You know how there are some blocks that can be sort of rotated depending on how they are placed? Like how when you place a log on a wall it is sideways but placed on the ground is normal? Well is there any way to get these different positions in /setblock or /summon? Thanks!

with setblock it is possible i think you do it like this: eg. /setblock ~ ~1 ~ minecraft:lever 2 creates an lever turned off and placed on the floor not a wall the way you change it is changing the number to see what number you need just place e.g. the lever in the way you want and then do "/testforblock x y z minecraft:lever 0" if it says "found block" it is 0 else it says the block has a data of --wanted number-- [expected: 0]

to know the possible values, use a command block with: /testforblock x y z minecraft:<block> <random value>
Ex.: /testforblock ~ ~1 ~ minecraft:stone_button 9
when you activate the command block it returns a message telling: bla bla bla value x (expected y)
the x value is what you need have in mind that the x value depends of the orientation (N, S, W, E) and the final state
Ex.: a stone_button pressed/unpressed facing N has a different value facing S

Metadata values 12,13,14 and 15 with a log are VERY cool...
